We are looking for a SCADA Programmer to join our Controls Team in a full-time position based in Kamloops, BC. The ICI Controls Team is comprised of experienced professionals who work on innovative projects in water, waste-water and industrial processes.


The ideal candidate will be a keen programmer with experience working with a wide range of industrial user interface software and a thorough understanding of SCADA system concepts.


The SCADA Programmer will collaborate with the ICI Controls Team to assist in designing and implementing SCADA systems, alarm management systems and tag database servers for a variety of clients in municipal and industrial settings. The ideal candidate will have the ability to develop and implement program designs in a timely manner while abiding by internal and industry best-practices. Attendance in regular training sessions and completion of Schneider Electric Certification exams is required. Familiarity with modern, situational aware user interface design is an asset.

Qualifications we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Technical Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent related experience

  • Eligible for Professional Registration with ASTTBC

  • 3+ years’ experience programming, modifying and troubleshooting a variety of industrial user interface systems, particularly Citect and Wonderware.

  • Industrial protocols knowledge and experience (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus, RS-485, DNP3, etc.)

  • Must demonstrate strong organization skills and documentation expertise

  • Excellent site safety awareness

  • Valid, clean Class 5 Drivers’ Licence and access to safe, reliable, 4-season transportation

  • Based out of the Kamloops office and available to travel 20% of the time as required to participate in system integration and commissioning support

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Must be fluent in English

  • Personal interest in working with and testing new technologies

  • Previous consulting experience and industry training will be considered an asset


Knowledge of industrial networking security, Ethernet networks, serial protocols, creative thinking and electrical problem-solving skills will be tested during the interview process.
